A Falling Star Is Rising

It was gone as swiftly as I saw it appear…

Was that a sign that I will wonder after an experience

that good or bad was near?

I guess I will find out later

Procrastination delays me from knowing if the good parts of me

will ever become greater

(Chorus)

I saw a falling star today

Gliding over me by the 105 freeway

For that moment, I loved the beauty of wondrous things

Instead of hating the strife that daily life brings.

The words of some are merely scribblings on paper

But when they move the soul and spirit

they become tools of the motivator.

Words are what I do, what I love…

Unbeknownst to you, I am the writer whom you should stand in awe of.

So many thoughts ran through my mind

while I admired that star racing across the sky

Mainly things like why I waste precious time asking why?

Why waste your time on people and places that don’t appreciate you?

Why succumb to the fear of the unknown just because it may defeat you?

(Chorus)

I saw a falling star today

Gliding over me by the 105 freeway

For that moment, I loved the beauty of wondrous things

Instead of hating the strife that daily life brings.

That pretty little falling star really made me think

about why by the time I get home from work

I need a MF drink

That’s something that should be reserved for execs

You ignore my middle management sects

but give random lazy a-holes fat bonus checks

Why for art thee perplexed?

(Ponders during intermission…)

Admittedly, fear of the unknown keeps me from immediately telling you to fuck the fuck off

Even though you will just use my severance check as a write-off.

Makes no sense

HENCE

A Burn Notice might just be my newly appointed doctor’s prescription.

See, you might look upon me as your slave

But I see myself as an original Black Egyptian!

You don’t even know the real me.

SHE

Whom I have kept hidden behind various pen names and a fa├žade.

To you, I may be expendable,

but to my pen,

I am God.
